Partner with me for a supportive and enriching supervision experience that will elevate your skills and ensure your clients receive the highest quality of care. Your dedication deserves the best, and I am here to provide just that.

I have the ability to provide both face-to-face and secure video conferencing supervision. Supervision services are designed to provide residents in counseling with the prerequisite skills required to function independently as a Virginia LPC. In addition, supervision toward credentialing as a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor are available.

I truly believe that good clinical supervision can make or break a clinician and I was lucky to have several supportive supervisors behind me in the beginning of my career. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for my supervisees. I heavily focus on supporting clinicians in not only their clinical skills but their development of a consistent and manageable self-care plan to help in preventing the development of burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and related conditions.

BOARD WEBSITE

As an LPC supervisor my goal is to guide persons seeking LPC licensure into their own private practice.

There are 2 parts to creating a private practice. #1 The clinical part, #2 the business talent needed to be successful in practice.

#1 Assist in the development of counseling knowledge and skills by identifying learning needs, determining counselor strengths, promoting self-awareness, and transmitting knowledge for practical use and professional growth.  Preparing for the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

#2 Learning how to create a private practice. This involves how to become active with insurance companies panels. Along with the importance of case management that is a filing system. This also includes the importance of how to create and maintain a website. In a private practice it is important to maintain confidentiality and to have a professional setting to counsel clients.

The LPC Supervision Covers:

  • Individual, weekly supervision sessions

  • Group supervision, when feasible

  • Feedback and guidance on counseling techniques

  • Review of case notes and other documentation and/or recorded client sessions, as feasible and appropriate

  • Phone or email consultation for emergency or time sensitive situations or events

  • Mentoring for professional development, including starting and maintaining a private practice or working in an agency

What to expect in clinical supervision:

I offer individual and group clinical supervision for post master’s degree counselors pursuing a license in VA as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). LSATP and CSAC candidates are also welcome if allowed by your board. Supervision occurs at a rate of 1 hour per 20 clinical hours, in accordance with board regulations.  Supervision may be a combination of individual and group and we will typically meet on a weekly basis.

Meeting details:

I understand that schedules are busy and your time is valuable. It is possible for supervision to occur in person or via secure video, so long as we have met in person initially and we have come to an agreement that works for both of us.  Face to face meetings will be necessary from time to time in order to complete timely paperwork. Please speak to me about scheduling needs you may have or to see what hours are currently available.
